SETÚBAL - Since October 1, 2013, when the old open MTV went off the air to make way for Ideal TV , those interested in buying the channel, which at the time was controlled by Grupo Abril , began to show interest. The RSS offered R$350 million to acquire the channel, but Grupo Abril refused the proposal because it did not want to negotiate with churches for broadcast rights on the Brazilian open network. However, in December 2013, Grupo Spring de Comunicação , which publishes Rolling Stones magazine, acquired the station for an undisclosed amount.
